It’s Tuesday and that means new releases. Today we have the Peter Jackson thriller The Lovely Bones (which I’m told has a stand-out performance from Stanely Tucci, one of my favorite actors); the 19th century period drama The Young Victoria with Emily Blunt as the young Queen Victoria and more of my favorite actors: Paul Bettany, Jim Broadbent and Miranda Richardson, who played a different Queen in the Black Adder series. Finally we have the mystery/drama Peacock with Cillian Murphy, Ellen Page and Susan Sarandon. We also still have a few copies of Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Men Who Stare At Goats, Sherlock Holmes and The Blind Side.

And now for some news. We’re always looking for ways to better serve you, and with that in mind we’re happy to unveil our online shop. That’s right, just up there on the navigation bar, you’ll find a tab labeled “Shop Online” where you can do just that. You can browse our many thousands of DVD, Blu-Ray and video game titles and buy them from the comfort of your home. We’ll ship them straight to you lickety-split. Like, fast. Check it out and let us know what you think.

How about a movie on this extremely windy weekend? We got a bunch of stuff in today for you, the Moviecycle customer to peruse.  How about the mildly gory crime-drama classic Angel Heart, starring the always creepy Mickey Rourke & a post-Cosby Show Lisa Bonet in a role that had Dr. Huxtable up in arms!

If you’re in the mood  for music, how  about Tom Berenger fronting the Springsteenesque Eddie & The Cruisers ?  It used to be about the music…

Now that we have 24-hour reality programming illuminating our TVs, how about a film that predicted it all back in 1995? Stephen Dorf  plays a hold-up hostage  who becomes famous when the security camera footage of his ramblings is broadcast in the teen-angst ridden S.F.W. (So F***ing What) Also starring Reese Witherspoon….which is never all that bad.

We also have the original version of The Getaway with Steve McQueen, (which I believe was re-made in the 90’s as an Alec Baldwin vehicle)  Spike Lee’s Jungle Fever & the film Happily Ever After, which was an official selection for the Toronto Rendez-Vous With French Cinema.  So it must be good.

So brave the wind, and come on down to Moviecycle and get your film on.
