That’s the number of titles we have in stock right now. And now I’m going to talk about each one. Kidding. I am going to talk about a few really cool things we have, though.

Like your movies old, like from the glory days of Hollywood? We can do that: Cleopatra, starring Elizabeth Taylor, in a super cool 3 disc edition. And then there’s a limited edition The Bridge On The River Kwai, one of the greatest WWI movies ever made, along with The Great Escape. We also have what many call the greatest film ever: Citizen Kane, plus Lawrence of Arabia, All About Eve, Lady From Shanghai, A Touch Of Evil and Marylin Monroe: The Diamond Collection featuring Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Seven Year Itch, How To Marry A Millionaire, Bus Stop plus Marylin Monroe: The Final Days.

Speaking of box sets, we also have The Ultimate Scream Collection with all three entries in the Scream franchise plus a bonus disc; The Crow Ultimate Collection, including The Crow and its two sequels; The Winona Rider Collection includes 1969, Autumn In New York, Great Balls Of Fire and Mermaids; a couple of two-packs: Labyrinth/Dark Crystal and The Cary Grant Collection which includes Father Goose and That Touch Of Mink; a horror/sci-fi three-pack with six movies on 3 discs: First Spaceship On Venus/Voyage To The Prehistoric Planet, Carnival Of Souls/Horror Hotel, House On Haunted Hill/Last Man On Earth and finally The Aussie Horror Collection Volume 2 which features four Australian horror flicks: The Dreaming, Snapshot, The Survivor and Voyage Into Fear.

We’ve got loads of other cool stuff, too, like Natural Born Killers (the director’s cut), The People Vs. Larry Flynt, Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Donnie Darko (the director’s cut), The Abominable Dr. Phibes, the Criterion Collection version of Naked Lunch, and the super-duper special edition Sin City!

And there’s a lot more. Come on in and check it out.

Feb 032010

It looks like we’re back on track with normal February weather, and what better way to beat the drizzle than to curl up with a movie or two?

We’ve got a pretty cool looking Matrix box set here which contains all three Matrix films, plus Animatrix and the three-disc Matrix Experience which has eleventy-seven hours of behind the scenes, documentaries, music videos and more. All in a really Matrix-y box.

Or how about this: Rambo: The Complete Collector’s Set. We’re talkin’ First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, Rambo III and the most recent action-packed installment Rambo In Retirement. Okay, I made that last one up. The fourth one is just called Rambo, and he’s anything but retired. All in all, it’s six discs of guns, knives, bows (and arrows) and explosions with more than 20 bonus features, including the completely awesome sounding Rambo-nomics (and I’m not making that one up).

We also have probably the finest action franchise ever: The Die Hard Collection, with Die Hard, Die Hard 2: Die Harder and Die Hard With A Vengeance. The only way this could be better would be if it included Live Free Or Die Hard, but we’ll just have to wait for that one.

Other notable collector sets are three-disc versions of Black Hawk Down and American Gangster.

I would also like to remind you that we still have a big pile of slim cases that we would be happy to give away in exchange for regular-sized DVD cases. These slim cases are half as thick as the normal ones, so they’d help you save a lot of space on your shelves. The only thing wrong with them is they aren’t very well suited to our displays here in the store, so if you’d like to make a swap, come on in and see us.
